| diminished | one semitone lower than minor or perfect |
| 12/8 | a compound quadruple time signature with four dotted crotchets in a bar |
| 6/4 | a compound duple time signature with two dotted minims in a bar |
| imperfect cadence | any chord to chord V |
| interrupted cadence | chord V to vi |
| tempo commondo | at a comfortable speed |
| tempogiusto | at a consistent speed |
