biotic the living things that shape an ecosystem
abiotic non-living chemical and physical parts of the environment

fauna all of the animal life of any particular region
prey organisms attacked and eaten by other organisms
predator An animal that feeds upon other animals (prey)
biome A complex community of plants and animals in a region and a climate
community is group of populations of two or more different species occupying the same geographical area.
ecosystem A community of living organisms in conjunction with the nonliving components of their environment
organism any contiguous living system
population a study of populations of organisms, especially the regulation of population size, life history traits such as clutch size, and extinction.
