| flora | plant life occurring in a particular region/native plants |
| fauna | all of the animal life of any particular region |
| prey | organisms attacked and eaten by other organisms |
| predator | An animal that feeds upon other animals (prey) |
| biome | A complex community of plants and animals in a region and a climate |
| community | is group of populations of two or more different species occupying the same geographical area. |
| ecosystem | A community of living organisms in conjunction with the nonliving components of their environment |
| organism | any contiguous living system |
| population | a study of populations of organisms, especially the regulation of population size, life history traits such as clutch size, and extinction. |
