QuestionAnswer
Developing a character in a story by describing appearance, revealing thoughts, or letting the character speak (a literary element) characterization
An examination of two or more things (characters, settings, themes, etc.) looking for similarities and differences comparison
A decision you reach based upon what you have read and learned conclusion
Expressions which have exact, precise meanings EX: a 76-story building, half past midnight concrete terms
The problem a character in a story faces conflict
The suggested meaning of an expression EX: the connotation of a well-worn armchair could be comfort connotation
The other words in a sentence or passage which help you figure out the meaning context
A comparison which shows the differences between two things contrast
