TermDefinition
Nutrients substance in food that plants and animals eat to survive.
eutrophication natural process that ultimately turns a lake into dry land over time.
turnover the mixing of surface water with bottom water.
wetlands area of water covered by water during part of the year and recognizable by the types of soil and plats that grow there.
point source pollution pollution that enters water from a specific location and can be controlled or treated before it can enter the body of water.
nonpoint source pollution pollution that enters water from a large area and cannot be traced to a single location.
