TermDefinition
excretion the system in the body that collects wastes produced by cells and removes the wastes from the body.
urea a chemical that comes from the breakdown of proteins.
kidneys the two major organs of the excretory system that remove urea and other wastes from the blood.
urine a watery fluid that contains urea and other water.
ureters two narrow tubes that urine flows to from the kidneys.
urinary bladder a sack-like muscular organ that stores urine.
urethra small tube from which urine leaves the body.
nephrons tiny filtering factors that remove wastes from blood and produce urine.
