TermDefinition
Melting The process of changing matter from a solid to a liquid by adding heat energy.
Freezing The process of changing matter from a liquid to a solid by taking away heat energy.
Boiling Point The temperature at which a liquid changes to a vapor or gas.
Melting Point The temperature at which a solid becomes a liquid.
Molecule A group of two or more atoms linked together by sharing electrons in a chemical bond.
Volume The amount of space an object takes up.
Physical Change A change in the size, shape, or state of matter with no new matter being formed. One example is ice changing yo liquid water to steam. this change can be reversed.
Chemical Change a change that occurs when chemical bonds are broken. An example is fire. A chemical change can not be reversed.
Matter Anything that takes up space.
Mass The concentration of matter in an object.
