| draw conclusion | to make a judgement after considering all the information is read |
| evidence | your basis for belief or disbelief; knowledge on which base to belief; detail/information from a text |
| infer | the reasoning involved in drawing a conclusion or making a logical judgment on the basis of circumstantial evidence and prior conclusions |
| identify | to find (recognize) something or someone and be able ti give important details about who or what he, she, or it is |
| evaluate | to judge or examine something carefully to decide its value or worth |
| interpret | to establish or explain the meaning or significance of something |
| synthesize | to combine different ideas, influences, or objects into a new whole |
| compare | liken somebody or something to another |
| primary purpose | main reason for doing something or using something |
| connect | to join; to put together or associate |
| justify | prove; give a reason for |
| central idea | main part of the story |
| supporting detail | facts or elements that support or reinforce |
| unifying ideas | ideas that bring the writing or story together |
| context clues | using words around an unfamiliar words to figure out the meaning |
| extraneous | not relevant or applicable; not essential or important |
| summarize | to give a shortened version of something that has been said or written , stating its main points |
| resolution | where the story comes to a satisfying end; the lesson or resolution is further explained |
