| Instinctive Behavior | An inborn pattern of behavior that is characteristics of a species and is often a response to specific environmental stimulus. |
| Inherited Trait | A characteristic that is passed from parent to offspring during reproduction. |
| Trait | A characteristic of an organism. |
| Instincts | An innate, typically fixed pattern of behavior in animals in response to certain stimuli. |
| Behavior | The way in which an animal or person acts in response to a particular situation or stimuli. |
| Offspring | New organisms that come from parents that have reproduced. |
| Heredity | The passing of traits from parent to offspring during reproduction. |
| Adaptation | Any characteristic that help a plant or animal survive. |
| Migration | To move usually periodically from one region or climate to another for feeding or breeding. |
| Mimicry | The resemblance of an organism to another organism or to its surroundings that gives it a better chance of survival. |
| Camouflage | The characteristics that blend in with the surrounding environment that increases chances of survival. |
| Hibernation | A long period of inactivity that is like sleeping. |
