electricla field The field around electrically charged objects.
series circuit A circuit that has more than one resistor, with the electricity taking one path through the resistors.
load The object being turned on with an electric current
switches Devices used to open and close circuits.
electric current A flow of electricity through a conductor.
electrostatic energy Potential energy stored as electrical charges.
circuit A circular path that starts and finishes at the same time.
battery A combination of different items that conduct electricity.
parallel circuit A circuit that has more than one resistor, with the electricity taking multiple paths through the resistors.
volts A measurement of the energy of an electrical charge.
resistor Any device that slows down the flow of electricity through a circuit.
direct current An electrical current that always flows in the same direction.
alternating current An electrical current that keeps changing directions.
electric grid The system power uses to travel from the power plant into your home.
current A stream of electrical energy that flows without stopping.
