Diffusion

cell division

TermDefinition
Diffusion Movement of molecules from a higher concentration to a lower concentration.
Osmosis When molecules of water move from an area of higher concentration to a lower concentration.
Selective Premability When certain molecules move into a cell while others are kept out.
Concentration The number of one kind of molecules in a given area.
Transport Ability to move substance into and out of a cell.
Equilibrium When the concentrations are equal inside and outside of the cell membrane.
Passive transport Movement of substances across the cell membrane which does not require an energy input.
Cell Membrane The organelle responsible fr moving substances like water,sugar,carbon dioxide,and oxygen into and out of the cell.
Indicator A chemical that illustrate the presence (or absence) of a particular chemical.
