| Term | Definition |

| Echo | A reflected sound wave is an echo. They are heard when sound bounces off a hard wall, but mostly absorded with soft wall. |
| Elasticity | Elasticity is the ability of a material to bounce back after being disturbed. Rubber bands come back to normal shape, and are more elastic than modeling clay that stays stretched. |
| Density | Density is how much matter or mass there is in a given amount of volume or space. The denser, the more mass in a given volume. |
| Loudness | Loudness describes your perception of the energy of a sound. You know you are louder shouting than while whispering. |
| Intensity | The amount of energy a sound wave carries per second through a unit area. More intensity means means louder sound, but if you walk away the intensity decreases. |
