Human Body Systems

TermDefinition
Digestive System The organs and glands in the body that are responsible for digestion.
Respiratory System A system of organs functioning in respiration and in humans consisting especially of the nose, nasal passages, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs.
Skeletal System The framework of the body, consisting of bones and other connective tissues.
Nervous System The network of nerve cells and fibers that transmits nerve impulses between parts of the body.
Circulatory System The system that circulates blood and lymph through the body, consisting of the heart, blood vessels, blood, lymph, and the lymphatic vessels and glands
Excretory System The system that remove wastes from the body.
Reproductive System The organs and glands that aid in the production of new individuals.
Muscular System The System is an organ system consisting of skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscles.
