AoS0 The Basics
| Term | Definition |

| Clef | Shows how high or low notes are when placed next to each other. |
| Treble Clef | Used for notes in the upper half of a keyboard. |
| Bass Clef | Used on the lower half of a keyboard. |
| Ledger lines | Extend the range of notes beyond the stave. |
| Stave | The 5 lines used to write music on. |
| PITCH | The range from high to low of notes heard |
| TEMPO | The speed of music |
| STRUCTURE | How sections of music are put together. |
| DURATION | The length of each note. |
| DYNAMICS | The change in volume of sound. |
| TIMBRE | The word used to say that different instruments sound different as well. |
| TEXTURE | The layers of sound. |
| MELODY | The tune. |
| HARMONY | The supporting chords in a piece. |
