AoS0 The Basics

TermDefinition
Clef Shows how high or low notes are when placed next to each other.
Treble Clef Used for notes in the upper half of a keyboard.
Bass Clef Used on the lower half of a keyboard.
Ledger lines Extend the range of notes beyond the stave.
Stave The 5 lines used to write music on.
PITCH The range from high to low of notes heard
TEMPO The speed of music
STRUCTURE How sections of music are put together.
DURATION The length of each note.
DYNAMICS The change in volume of sound.
TIMBRE The word used to say that different instruments sound different as well.
TEXTURE The layers of sound.
MELODY The tune.
HARMONY The supporting chords in a piece.
