What is a parallel circuit? circuit with more than one path for electrons to follow
What is an Alternating current? electrons alternate which direction they are flowing (outlets)
What is Direct Current? electrons flow in only one direction from negative to positive (batteries)
What is GFCI outlet? special outlet with a safety switch that instantly switches off in a dangerous situation to prevent shock
What is electric current? the steady flow of electrons usually in a wire
what is a circuit? a path in which electricity can flow
what is a switch? an object that opens or closes in a circuit
what is a series circuit? a circuit with one path for electrons to flow
what is a generator? a device that uses a magnet to change mechanical energy into electrical energy
what is electrical energy? the movement or flow of electrons
What is a conductor? an object that allows energy to flow through it
What is a closed circuit? a circuit that electric currents flow through
What is an insulator? an object that does NOT allow energy to flow through it
What is lightening a giant spark of electric charges moving between a cloud and the ground
What is radiant energy light xrays, gamma rays and radio waves
What is sound when a force causes an object or substance to vibrate
What is thermal energy the vibration of and movement of atoms and molecules of a substance
