Single -Celled Organisms

Protist Single-Celled organism; eukaryotic; less complex with many different characteristics
Euglena Has chlorophyll and lives in fresh water; uses photosynthesis to get food; its a producer and a heterotroph; has an eyespot
Heterotroph Gets food by eating other things
Producer Makes their own food
Eyespot Helps to sense light
Contractile vacuole Holds excess water and waste and removes it from the cell
Flagella Creates movement; whiplike tail that helps it move around. Euglena's move with a flagella
Reproduction Asexual (binary fission)
Amoeba It is a protist. Found in freshwater and salt water. Also found around a lot of dead and decaying material. It is a parasite. Has contractile vacuoles.
Parasites Get energy by invading other organisms
Pseudopodia False feet.
