TermDefinition
air mass Volume of air defined by its temperature & water vapor content.
stationary front Boundary between 2 air masses that doesn't move, but can wobble back & forth for several hundred miles a day
occluded front Combination of 2 fronts that form when a cold front catches up & overtakes a warm front.
warm front Boundary between a cool air mass & a warm air mass moving so the warmer air replaces the cooler air.
cold front Boundary between a cool air mass & a warm air mass moving sot the cooler air replaces the warmer air.
