Chromosomes A thread-like structure of nucleic acids and protein.
Karyotype The number and visual appearance of the chromosomes
Genotype the genetic constitution of an individual organism
Phenotype the observed characteristics of an individual
Mitosis A type of cell division that results in two 'daughter cells' exactly the same as the 'parent cell'
Meiosis A type of cell division that results in four 'daughter cells' that have half the chromosomes compared to the 'parent cell'
