| Term | Definition |

| Static Electricity | A buildup of charges on an object |
| Energy Source | A place where energy comes from, such as batteries, food, fuels, and the Sun |
| Electrical Energy | The energy carried by electric current |
| Conductor | A substance, commonly a metal such as copper or aluminum, through which electricity flows |
| Insulator | A material that prevents the flow of electricity, commonly plastic, rubber, glass, or air |
| Conductivity | A measure of the ability of an object to conduct electricity |
| Open Circuit | An incomplete circuit through which electricity will not flow |
| Parallel Circuit | A circuit that splits into two or more pathways before coming together at the battery |
| Closed Circuit | A complete circuit through which electricity flows |
| Switch | A device used to open and close circuits |
| Battery | A source of stored chemical energy |
| Current | The flow of electricity through a conductor |
