Electricity

Static Electricity A buildup of charges on an object
Energy Source A place where energy comes from, such as batteries, food, fuels, and the Sun
Electrical Energy The energy carried by electric current
Conductor A substance, commonly a metal such as copper or aluminum, through which electricity flows
Insulator A material that prevents the flow of electricity, commonly plastic, rubber, glass, or air
Conductivity A measure of the ability of an object to conduct electricity
Open Circuit An incomplete circuit through which electricity will not flow
Parallel Circuit A circuit that splits into two or more pathways before coming together at the battery
Closed Circuit A complete circuit through which electricity flows
Switch A device used to open and close circuits
Battery A source of stored chemical energy
Current The flow of electricity through a conductor
