QuestionAnswer
What is the purpose of atria? They are the pumping mechanism of the heat, it's a thin wall.
What is the purpose of the ventricles? They are the thick wall of the pumping mechanism.
Briefly describe the path of blood as it circulates through the heart. the right side of the heat receives oxygen -depleted blood from the body and pumps it to the lungs. The left side of the heart receives oxygen rich blood from the lungs and pumps in to the rest of the body.
What is the cause of heart attacks? A blockage of blood flow to the heart muscles.
What is the primary symptoms of heart attacks? nausea, vomiting, sweating, shortness of breath, and maybe loss of consciousness.
Describe the regulation of heart activity by the autonomic nervous system? The atria and ventricles contract and relax rhythmically in a high coordinated serves of actions known as the cardiac cycle.
Describe the structure of the cardiac muscle cells. cardiac muscle cells are short, branched, and contain only one or more per cell
Describe the path of a cardiac impulse through the myocardium.
