Theme The main idea of a piece of music
Variation A repetition of the theme, only changed a little bit.
Sequence A melody pattern that repeats at a higher or lower pitch.
Dynamics How loud or soft music is.
Crescendo To get gradually louder.
Decrescendo To get gradually softer.
Piano To play or sing softly. (p)
Mezzopiano To play or sing medium softly. (mp)
Mezzoforte To play or sing medium loudly. (mf)
Forte To play or sing loudly. (f)
Fortissimo To play or sing very loudly. (ff)
Legato Notes that are smooth and connected
