tissue a group of similar cells that work together to preforms the same function
organ is a group made of two or more types of tissue that work together to carry out one specific function
organ system a group of organs working together
passive transport is the movement of substances through membranes without the use of the cells energy
osmosis is the movement of water particles through a membrane
cellular resperation plants and animals use the energy from glucose
active transport when energy is required to move materials through a cell membrane
cell cycle others divide and produce new cells, replacing dead cells
mitosis as the cells nucleus each cell receives a full set of chromosomes
zygote two cells join to form a single cell
meiosis the nucleus of a cell divides twice
fertilization occurs when a sperm cell joins an egg cell
