Complications

Consent Must have prior to obtaining supplies
Lab work CBC, type and cross match
Complications difficulty breathing, pulmonary edema
infusion time 3-4 hours
IV solution Must hang with 0.9 normal saline
Vital signs pre blood vital signs, 15 minutes and when blood is completed
Complications STOP BLOOD - infuse 0.9 normal saline; notify physician
Complications notify blood bank - obtain urine, lab draw AND SAVE THE BLOOD - return to blood bank
