TermDefinition
cell cycle Most cells in an organism go through a cycle of growth, development, and division.
interphrase The period during the cell cycle of a cell's growth and development.
sister chromatids They make up a duplicated chromosome.
centromere The sister chromatids that are held together by a structure.
mitosis When the nucleus and its contents divide
cytokinesis When the cytoplasm and its contents divide.
Daughter cells Two new cells that result from mitosis and cytokinesis
