Occupation: possession of a country by military force
Resistence: A secretive organization fighting for a county which under military occupation.
Sabotage: destruction of propertyto disrupt normal operations.
Trousseau: a bride's collection of clothes and linens.
Fiancé: a man to whom a woman is engaged to be married.
Rationed: to restrict to limited amounts.
Haughtily: scornfully, condescendingly
Kroner: foreign money
Swastika: the emblem of Nazi Germany.
Curfew: A required time when one has to be home
Disdainfully: to treat with contempt; despise.
Synagogue: a place of worship for the Jewish faith.
Rabbi: a Jewish trained leader
Submerged: to cover with water.
