why do ice bergs float? because when they freeze they leave out the salt which means it is less dense then the water around it, most ice bergs contain a lot of air too.
why is ice less dense then water? because when it freezes it leaves out the salt which means it is less dense then the water around it.
where does some of the oceans salt come from? hydro thermal vents and undersea volcanoes.
what is salinity expressed by? the amount of salt found in 1000 grams of water.
what is brackish water. ocean salt water and fresh water mixed together.
how does ice make it possible for organisms to live in a lake in the winter? it acts like a blanket keeping out wind.
what is salinity? the amount of salt in seas or oceans.
do we have salt water in our bodies or is it fresh water? we have salt water.
what does salt do to ocean water? it lowers the freezing point and makes the water more dense.
should you drink distilled water or salt water? distilled because if you drink to much salt water your body reacts be dehydration and throwing up.
what is distilled water? water that has been boiled (changed to vapor) and then re-condensed (back to liquid).
what is the average range of salinity? 35%-37%
