| Jury | Panel of citizens who help interpret society's customs. |
| Constitutional Law | Created when constitutions are amended or adopted. |
| Substantive Law | Law that defines legal rights and duties. |
| Unconstitutional | When a law conflicts with a constitution. |
| Statutes | Laws enacted by state and federal legislatures. |
| Ordinances | Laws enacted by local legislatures. |
| Ethics | The practice of deciding what is right or wrong in a reasoned, impartial manner. |
