Voices of verbs

Jenney's First Year

TermDefinition
Two voices: Active and passive
Active voice Shows that the subject of the verb performs the action of the verb
Passive voice Shows that the subject of the verb receives the action (usually doesn't use sum)
Another way to think of it? Direct of an active verb becomes subject when verb is passive
Examples of active and passive? A: Fābulam narrat=he is telling a story P: fābula narrātur=a story is being told
