| Satellite | An artificial body placed in orbit around the earth or moon or another planet in order to collect information or for communication |
| Gravity | The force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth, or toward any other physical body having mass |
| Lunar Phases | The illuminated portion of the Moon as seen by an observer, usually on Earth. |
| Eclipse | An obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination |
| Umbra | The fully shaded inner region of a shadow cast by an opaque object, especially the area on the earth or moon experiencing the total phase of an eclipse. |
| Penumbra | The partially shaded outer region of the shadow cast by an opaque object. |

| Spring Tide | High tides (largest daily tidal range) |
