WordDefinition
Satellite An artificial body placed in orbit around the earth or moon or another planet in order to collect information or for communication
Gravity The force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth, or toward any other physical body having mass
Lunar Phases The illuminated portion of the Moon as seen by an observer, usually on Earth.
Eclipse An obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination
Umbra The fully shaded inner region of a shadow cast by an opaque object, especially the area on the earth or moon experiencing the total phase of an eclipse.
Penumbra The partially shaded outer region of the shadow cast by an opaque object.
Tide The falling and rising of water
Spring Tide High tides (largest daily tidal range)
Neap Tide Low tides (smallest daily tidal range)
Rotation The falling and rising water
