| Term | Definition |

| hypothesis | a statement of what you thin will happen during an investigation |
| observation | is something you find out about an object, event , or living thing by using your senses. |
| experiment | is the use of scientific method to test your hypothesis |
| variable | is something that can change in a test. |
| independent variable | variable is one one that you can control |
| dependent variable | variable changes when an independent variable changes. it is what gets measured. it give you data. |
| control group | the group that doesn't get the special treatment. |
| proceeders | step-by-step instructions for completing a task. |
| data | information from which a conclusion can be drawn former a prediction can be made. |
| precision | is the ability to constantly repeat a measurement |
| accuracy | is the ability to make a measurement that is as close to the accrual as possible |
| inference | conclusion based on observation. |
| Evidence | are observations that you make you believe something is true |
| model | used to test objects or ideas that represent something else. |
| surveys | questions that are answered by people. Great for opinion. |
| sampling | examining random individual from a population. |
| experimental group | the group that gets the special treatment |
