| Observation | An observation is something you find out about objects, events, or living things by using your senses. |
| Experiment | An experiment is the use of scientific methods to test your hypothesis. |
| Variable | A variable is something that can change in a test. |
| Independent variable | A independent variable is one that you can control. |
| Dependent variable | A dependent variable changes when an independent variable changes. |
| Control group | A control group is a standard against which change is measured. |
| Data | Data are information from which a conclusion can be drawn or a prediction can be made. |
| Precision | Precision is the ability to consistently repeat a measurement. |
| Accuracy | Accuracy is the ability to make a measurement. |
| Inference | An inference is a conclusion based on observations. |
| Procedures | Procedures are step by step instructions for completing a task. |
| Evidence | Evidence are observations that make you belive that something is true. |
