TermDefinition
Hypothesis A statement of what you think will happen during an investigation.
Observation Something you find out about objects ,events,or living things by using your senses.
Experiment The use of scientific methods to test your hypothesis.
Variable Something that can change in a test.
Independant Variable Is one that you can control.
Dependant Variable Changes when an indepedant variable changes. It is what is measured This is your data.
Control Group The group that doesn't get the special treatment.
Procedures Are step-by-step instructions for completing a task.
Data Information from which a conclusion can be drawn or a prediction can be made.
Precision Is the ability to consistently repeat a measurement
Accuracy Is the ability to make a measurement that is as close to the actual value as possible.
Inference Is inference is the dog barking because it sees a rabbit.
Evidence Are observations that make you believe that something Is true.
Survey Questions that are answered by people.Great for opinion questions.
Sampling Examining random individuals from a population.
Models Objects or ideas that repreasent other things.
Experimental group The group that gets the special treatment.
