Stratus Clouds Blankets like layers that often produce long study precipitaton
Cumulus Clouds Puffy clouds with a flat bottom and that bring fair weather
Cirrus Clouds Wispy,feather like shape;seen sunny days
Cumulonimbus Clouds produce heavy and brief thunderstorms and the only clouds to form vertically (up and down)
Fog low lying stratus cloud
Rain falls though warm air from the cloud all the way to the ground
Snow falls though cold air from the cloud to the ground
Sleet falls as a raindrop from the cloud and then falls through cold air at the ground "frozen raindrop"
Hail produced by a cumulonimbus cloud- moves up and down in the cloud and grows larger and larger
