| crust (C14) | outer layer of the Earth that is made of solid rock |
| mantle (C14) | layer of rock beneath the Earth's surface |

| plate (C15) | rigid blocks of crust and upper mantle rock |

| volcano (C16) | mountain formed by lava and ash |
