Phloem Vascular tissue through which food moves
Xylem Water and minerals that travel in a vascular tissue
Pollen Tiny structures that contain the cells that will become sperm cells.
Seed Structure that contain a young plant inside a protective covering
Embryo A young plant that develops from the zygote or fertilized egg
Cotyledons The embryo has one or more seed leaves
Germination When the embryo begins to grow and pushes out of the seed
Root Cap Protects the root from injury from rocks as the root grows through the soil
Cambium Layer of cells that divide to produce new phloem and xylem
Transpiration Process by which water evaporates from a plant's leaves
