TermDefinition
Phloem the vascular tissue through which food moves
Xylem water and minerals, that travel through vascular tissue
Pollen tiny structures that contain the cells that will later become egg and sperm cells
Seed a structure that contains a young plant inside a protective covering
Embryo a young that develops from the zygote, or fertilized egg
Cotyledon one or more seed leaves
Germination occurs when the seed absorbs water from the enviroment
Rootcap protects the root from injury from rocks as the root grows through the soil
Cambium a layer of cells, which divide to produce new phloem and xylem
Transporation process by which water evaporates from a plant's leaves
