what is coarse garined texture? coarse grained texture is slow cooling resulting in large crystals
what is fine grained texture? fine grain texture is rapid cooling of magma resulting in interconnecting mineral grains
what is a rock? a rock is any solid mass of mineral or mineral like matter that occurs natural as part of out planet
what is erosion? erosion is weathering and the removal of rock
what is the rock cycle? rock cycle consists of a cycle that changes the earth's rocks
what is compaction? compaction is a process that compacts or squeezes sediments
what is cementation? cementation is when dissolved minerals are deposited in tiny spaces among sediments
what is an igneous rock? igneous rock is formed from crystalized magma
what is sedimentary rock? sediments that are compacted
what is weathering? weathering is a process in which rocks are physically broken down by water, air and living things
what powers the earth's rock cycle? internal heat powers the rock cycle
what is a metamorphic rock? any type of rock that is changed by heat,pressure, or fluids
what is magma? magma forms when rock melt beneath earths surface
what is clastic sedimentary rock? rocks made from weathered bits of rocks
what is chemical sedimentary rocks? dissloved minerals precipitate from water solutions
