what is a renewable rescource? a renewable rescource can be replenished over a short period of time.
what energy resources are fossil fuels? fossil fuels are coal, oil, natural gas
what are the advantages of using solar energy? the two advantages are the fuel is free and it is nonpolluting
what is geothermal energy? geothermal energy is hot water used for heating to turn turbines to generate electricity
what is wind energy? wind energy is created by harnessing wind by using long blades to turn the turbines to create energy
what is hydroeletric energy? water held in a reservoir then released through the dam to create power
what is tidal power? tidal power is created through constructing a dam across a bay to make water flow in and out to cause turbines to turn to create energy
why is fresh water a vital resource? fresh water is a vital rescouce because we use water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and growing food
what is point source pollution? pollution that comes from a specific location
what is nonpoint source pollution? pollution that has not specific origin
what is the role of ozone in the atmosphere? three atom form of oxygen protects the earth from earth's harm
what are earth's land resources? they provide soil and forests and also energy resources
what is conservation? protecting earth's valuble resources
what did the clean air act do? the clean air act is a law that makes it so people cant pollute the air
what did the clean water act do? helped protect drinking resources
what is the difference between compost and recyling? the difference between the two is recycling is the collecting and processing of used items, compost is decomposed organic materials used as fertilizers
what is the RCRA and what does it do? It has helped decrease illegal and unsafe dumping of hazardous materials
what is runoff? water that runs over land rather that going into the ground
what is global warming? global warming is the unnatural warming of the lower atmosphere
what is a nonrenewable resource? a nonrenewable resource is a resource that takes millions of years to form
