How are nonmetallic mineral resources used? Nonmetallic mineral resources are extracted and processed for the non metallic elements or their physical and chemical properties.
What is hydroelectric power? Hydroelectric power is power that is generated by falling water.
What is geothermal energy? Geo thermal energy is harnessed by tapping natural underground reservoirs of steam and hot water.
What are the advantages of using solar energy? Solat energy is free and nonpolluting.
How is wind energy used? Wind energy is used to power sailing ships and windmills. it is also used to operate wind turbines.
How is tidal power harnessed? Tidal power is harnessed by constricting a dam across the mouth of a bay in coastal areas with a large tidal range.

Why is the chemical composition of the atmosphere important? The chemical composition of the atmosphere helps maintain life on Earth. Pollution can change the chemical compostion of the atmosphere and disrupt it's natural cycles.
What is conservation? Conservation is the careful use of resources.
What is compost? Compost is partly decomposed organic material that is used as fertilizer.
