| control rod | rods used to slow down the process placed between the fuel rods |
| meltdown | when the fuel rods produce too much heat. |
| nuclear fusion | when 2 nuclei are combined to make 1 bigger nucleus. |
| efficiency | the percentage of energy that is actually used to perform work. |
| insulation | a layer of material that traps air to help block the transfer of heat between the air inside and the air outside. |
