Hydrosphere

| Porosity | is amount of pore spaces. |
| water table | upper boundary of zone of saturation |
| zone of aeration | air in pores above the zone of saturation |
| Permeability | ability of material to let water pass. |
| Aquifers | are permeable sediments with large pores. |
| Aquicludes | are barriers to groundwater flow. |
| Springs | natural discharge of groundwater |
| Hot springs | greater than 37 degrees celsius |
| Geyser | is explosive hot spring. |
| carbonic acid. | reason of why groundwater is slightly acidic |
| calcite | water dissolves in limestone |
| Stalactites | formed by calcite precipation |
| Hard Water | has high amounts of Ca, Mg, and Fe; can clog pipes |
| wells | hole in ground to reach an aquifer |
| Ordinary Well | reaches below a water table |
| Cone of depression | formed by over pumping |
| Recharge | refilling of the cone of depression |
