| Hot Springs | >37 degrees C, near igneous activity and deep aquifers |
| Geyser | explosive hot spring |
| Carbonic Acid | makes groundwater slightly acidic |
| Hard Water | high amounts of Ca, Mg, Fe; can clog pipes |
| Wells | holes in ground to reach an aquifer |
| Ordinary Well | reaches below water table |
| Artesian Well | drilled into aquifer under pressure, water spurts like fountain |
| Calcite | dissolved by acid water in limestone |
| Stalactites | formed by calcite precipitation |
| Cone of Depression | What happens when there is overpumping in an aquifer |
| Recharge | Aquifer needs to recharge using precipitation |
| Threats to Water Supply | overuse, pollution, chemicals, salt, radon |
