Mr. Borza

TermDefinition
Circuit ex. a closed conducting loop which electric charges move through
Conductor a material or device that conducts or transmits heat, electricity
Electric current
Electric discharge Electric discharge describes any flow of electric charge through a gas, liquid or solid.
Electric force The strength of an electric field at a given point in space near an electrically charged object is proportional to the amount of charge on the object, distance between the point and the object.
Electric power Electric power is the rate of energy consumption in an electrical circuit. The electric power is measured in units of watts. Electric power definition.
Ion an atom or molecule with a net electric charge due to the loss or gain of one or more electrons.
Insulator a substance that does not readily allow the passage of heat or sound.
Ohm’s law Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference across the two points.
Parallel circuit A parallel circuit is a closed circuit in which the current divides into two or more paths before recombining to complete the circuit
Resistance the refusal to accept or comply with something; the attempt to prevent something by action or argument.
Series circuit A series circuit is a closed circuit in which the current follows one path, as opposed to a parallel circuit where the circuit is divided into two or more paths
electric field a region around a charged particle or object within which a force would be exerted on other charged particles or objects.

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
