Music Yearly Exam

What is the definition of programme music? Programme music is the instrumental music that tells a story, poem or idea.
What does a dot after a note add? The dot after a beat ( . ) adds half of the beats original value. eg: o (semibreve) with a dot ( . ) = o. = the value of 6
What are four members of the Wind Family? Bassoon, clarinet, flute, english horn.
What are four members of the String Family? Double bass, Viola, Cello, Violin.
What are four members of Brass Family? Trumpet, Trombone, Horn, Tuba.
What are four members of the Purcussion Family? Snare drum, Triangle, Cymbals, gong
What are common time signitures in yr 7 2/4, 3/4, 4/4.
How do we read notes above & below the trebble cleif? they go in alphabetic order.
What are bar lines? Bar lines are made up of notes that equal up the time signatures.
What is a semibreve's rest Rectangle below the line.
what is a minims rest Rectangle above the line.
