| geocentric | describes something that uses Earth as the reference point |
| gravitational force | t any two bodies in the universe attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. |
| heliocentric | sun centered |
| moon | the natural satellite of the earth, visible (chiefly at night) by reflected light from the sun. |
| orbit | the path that a body follows as it travels around another body in space. |
| planet | a relativley large spherical body that orbits a star |
| solar system | the sun and all of the planets and other bodies that travel around it. |
| parallax | an apparent shift in the position of an objectvwhen viewed from different locations |
