| Elliptical | Shaped like a flattened circle. |
| Geocentric | Describes something that uses Earth as the reference point. |
| Gravitational Force | The force of attraction between all masses in the universe; especially the attraction of the earth's mass for bodies near its surface. |
| Heliocentric | Sun-centered |
| Moon | The natural satellite of the earth, visible chiefly at night by reflected light from the sun. |
| Orbit | The path that a body follows as it travels around another body in space. |
| Planet | A relatively large spherical body that orbits a star. |
| Solar System | The sun and all of the planets and other bodies that travel around it. |
| Parallax | The effect whereby the position or direction of an object appears to differ when viewed from different positions, e.g., through the viewfinder and the lens of a camera. |
