| Elliptical | Using or involving ellipsis, especially so as to be difficult to understand. |
| Geocentric | Describes something that used Earth as a reference point. |
| Gravitational Force | Any two bodies in the universe attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. |
| Heliocentric | Sun-centered |
| Moon | The natural satellite of the earth, visible (chiefly at night) by reflected light from the sun. |
| Orbit | The path that the body follows as it travels around another body in space. |
| Planet | A relatively large spherical body that orbits a star. |
| Solar System | The sun and all of the planets and other bodies that travel around it. |
| Parallax | An apparent shift in the position of an object when viewed from different locations.` |
