| Spreading center | Two plates move away from each other and leave a deep crack |
| Rift valleys | A linear shaped lowland between several highlands or mountain ranges created by the action of geological rift or fault |
| Deep ocean trenches | Trenches in the ocean that ads very deep |
| Volcanic island arc | Volcanoes that form an islands chain and are caused by hot spots. |
