elliptical involving ellipsis, especially so as to be difficult to understand.
geocentric measured from or considered in relation to the center of the earth.
gravitational force gravitation states that any two bodies in the universe attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
heliocentric measured from or considered in relation to the center of the sun.
moon the natural satellite of the earth, visible (chiefly at night) by reflected light from the sun.
orbit the curved path of a celestial object or spacecraft around a star, planet, or moon, especially a periodic elliptical revolution.
planet a celestial body moving in an elliptical orbit around a star.
solar system the collection of eight planets and their moons in orbit around the sun, together with smaller bodies in the form of asteroids, meteoroids, and comets.
parallax Parallax is a displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight.
