environment Everything around a living thing.
ecosystem The living and non-living things that affect each other, or interact.
population A group of the same kind of living things that live in the same place at the same time.
community All the populations that live in an ecosystem.
habitat The place where a population lives in an ecosystem.
interact When plants and animals work together or with the environment to meet their needs.
producer A living thing that makes its own food.
consumer A living thing that eats other living things as food.
decomposer A living thing that breaks down dead things for food.
