What is the energy source for the water cycle? the sun
Where does most of the water moving through the water cycle come from? the ocean
Since most of the rainwater comes from the ocean why isn't rainwater salty? Only water evaporates, everything else is left behind.
How does rain form? When water droplets in clouds get too large to stay in the air gravity pulls it down to earth.
What type of precipitation will you get if the air temperature is below freezing and the water vapor becomes a solid without becoming a liquid first? snow
What type of precipitation will you get if the air temperature is above freezing? rain
What type of precipitation will you get if the rain falls through air that is below freezing? sleet
What type cloud will produce hail? cumulonimbus
What type cloud is low, gray, and blankets the sky? They can produce some rain or snow. stratus
What type cloud is puffy and usually means fair weather unless they grow then they can produce rain. cumulus
What type cloud is high in the sky, made of ice crystals and indicates fair weather? cirrus
